I'll be on that cruise, but as a sailor. A sailor in tight tights. Ahoy matey.

How much do you estimate per person?

Don't they usually require a deposit like a year in advance?

Either way, I'm interested.

I will totally sing that to you if you come on the cruise. I'll sign it out loud in front of everyone, maybe I'll even throw in a little dance move or two.

I don't think you need a deposit. You probably ned to guarantee the reservation with a credit card like a hotel room. But for a 3 day cruise I've seen rates as low as $200 on Expedia.

If it's only around 200, I'm pretty sure I can do that.

Ever since Consucruise came out as a scientologist I haven't been able to muster up as much respect for him as I used to.

For 200, hell yeah. Mexico isn't really on my top list of places to go, but still, going on a cruise anywhere would be cool.

i thought they changed the rules starting in 08 that you need one.

some cursory googling reveals the following: Beginning in January, 2008, passports will be required of all people entering the United States, even from bordering Western Hemisphere nations such as the Caribbean, Mexico and Canada.

I'm pretty sure that if you have U.S. id you don't need a passport unless you're flying in. Especially if you're on a cruise ship because it's like international waters and stuff. But I'll double check before we start to make arrangements.

I think the passport rules were changed slightly because of the overwhelming demand. basically, they can't keep up so people aren't getting passports soon enough for travel. my boss traveled to canada on a cruise and was told she'd need passports for everyone (kids, husband, etc.). so... long story short, yeah, what pagne said. check before making any sort of plans.

They're also issuing some kind of form or other that you can use as a temporary, basically saying that the bearer has submitted an application for a US passport and is currently in processing. I know folks that have gone to the Grand Bahamas and all those joints on a cruise, and they had to have it by the cruise lines, although they didn't actually look at them.

Who knows with the TSA though. They've checked me for every flight I've taken and still don't know what all those cables in the bag are in the xray.

The weekend cruises don't go any further than Baja anyway so I don't think it'll be an issue. But if so, it's always good to have a passport because you never know when you'll need to flee the country. I think it's only like a $20 application fee. Me and Nelly already have ours from when our mom fucked over our trip to London a few years ago.

I think I'm gonna get a new picture taken though, mine doesn't look like me anymore. I still had purple hair back then and everything.
