[s]Ok is there anywhere that sells kits of all the parts I'd need and then I just put it all together? That's still gotta be cheaper than buying a new computer already put together right? Cause honestly I don't know what kind of stuff is top of the line these days.[/s]

Ok scratch that. I did the math and with the parts I chose for building a computer with it came out to like $800 and that's not including a monitor, keyboard & mouse, software, or a handy little warranty to protect everything. I'd rather just buy a new computer from Best Buy but since I can't afford that like ever, do you think there's any way my computer can support a new graphics card without having to replace every other part of my computer as well?

I got a 3.00ghz Pentium 4, & 1.5g of ram. Am I screwed or what?

Chanel, did you know you could ask somebody you know to price out a handbuilt computer for you? There might be someone who has a lot of experience building and shipping computers to people all over the states.

Ahem... Ronin, could you do me a huge favor and price out a computer for me? Spec the parts at upper mid-range... I want to be able to play games for the next three years easy, and from there on lower graphic levels... Don't worry about shit like FarCry2, though...

I won't. 4 gigawatt power supplies and the processing unit for the souls of small children are way out of your price range.

Srsly. I spent 8 hours on the phone on Sunday. I haven't done that since I was a little childrens.

Did you make 3.95 a minute?

Haha, no, but it may pay off in the end. This boy likes money... and shops at Tiffany, for his cologne... so maybe I'm not getting anything NOW but I plan on having a TaCo engagement ring if it goes that far. ;)
THAT'S RIGHT, I LOVE THE COCK.

Hey Ronin? Ditto. Don't bother with a soundcard though, I can rip the one I got out. I must must must have two disc drives though, one awesome dvd burner and whatever's cheap for the second. Oh and a slot for my sd card.

So Ronin, how's that coming along?

Actually I was wondering, can anyone tell me what I would need to replace in my computer to be able to run a decent graphics card? Here's my specs:

Don't really need to replace anything but the graphics card. My CPU is a bit slower, I only have a bit more RAM, other than that it's about the same.

One of these ones should do you just fine. I have one similar to this.

A dude at Best Buy said I need a new power supply if I get a new graphics card. I heard somewhere I could need a new CPU too. :(

Power supply, maybe. That's kinda complicated, but unless you're buying a 500 dollar card you should be cool.

CPU's fine, really.
